U.S. Republican Senator Graham to examine Trump's business deals: CNN
Kudos to Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who today said he intends to examine Trump's business ties for any connections between Russia and the Trump campaign or Trump’s associates. Graham also said it would be helpful to see Trump's tax records, although it was too early to say whether he would be willing to subpoena them.
At yesterday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Graham asked former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper whether he had concerns about Russian ties to Trump's business interests. Clapper said he could not comment because the issue could be a subject of an ongoing investigation. (Clapper did not say, as Trump claims he did, that there were no such ties.)
Lindsey Graham deserves kudos. If he follows through, he deserves our abiding appreciation.

America’s allies are figuring out Donald Trump. Say It Ain't So: 129 People Have Already Filed To Run For President In 2020
One of them is President Trump. He's already set up a reelection committee -- perhaps earlier than anyone in history -- and his campaign released the first ad of the 2020 cycle.
Oh, and one person creating some special buzz although he's not filed? Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.
Already 129 people have filed to run for president in 2020. Among them: Donald Trump. Prominent people are considering it, but these elections…

Like other White House visitors before her, Merkel found Trump to be a good listener. Perhaps because much of what he was hearing seemed new to him

FCC to investigate, 'take appropriate action' on Colbert’s Trump rant
Trump’s chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Ajit Pai, today promised to “take the appropriate action” following a “comprehensive investigation” of Stephen Colbert’s satirical putdown of Trump late Monday night, when Colbert said “The only thing your mouth is good at is being [Russian President] Vladimir Putin’s c—k holster.”
Late-night satirical putdowns of presidents are a staple of American life, even when tasteless or edgy. No off-color joke by a late-night comedian has ever been investigated by the FCC before now, and no FCC chairman has ever threatened “appropriate action” against one.
But Trump is thin-skinned and vindictive. He especially hates being laughed at. He’s already blasted Saturday Night Live for satirizing him. Trump’s FCC chairman seems eager to do Trump's bidding.
Trump is even threatening to widen libel laws so he can sue the media for criticizing him.
Stephen Colbert can take care of himself. I worry about other comics and Trump critics who may now pull their punches. That’s what this is really all about.
What do you think?
FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said fines are "typically what we do" for justifiable penalties.
