State-sponsored Chinese hackers have infiltrated critical US infrastructure networks, US, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and UK authorities warn.

They issued a joint Cybersecurity Advisory warning a state-sponsored China cyber actor "Volt Typhoon" has infiltrated critical US infrastructure networks, and say similar activities could be occurring globally.

Microsoft says Volt Typhoon has been active since mid-2021 and has targeted critical infrastructure in Guam, a crucial US military outpost in the Pacific Ocean.
